Privacy Policy

The digiNOM Privacy Promise

We will never sell your data. We will never share it. We will never use it to train AI. When you delete it, it's gone. That's it. That's the policy.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the platform:

Account info: Username, email address, password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read your password)
Profile info: Display name, bio, avatar — only what you choose to provide
Content: Posts, comments, messages, and images you create
Technical data: IP address and browser type in server logs (standard for any website)

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not track your browsing behavior
We do not use tracking pixels, cookies for advertising, or fingerprinting
We do not build behavioral profiles or shadow profiles
We do not use third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel)
We do not scan your photos with facial recognition
We do not read your private messages

3. How We Use Your Data

To display your profile and content to other users
To deliver your messages to the intended recipients
To show you a chronological feed of people you follow
To process your subscription payment (via Stripe — we never see your card number)
To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

4. What We Will NEVER Do

Sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else
Share your data with third parties without your explicit consent
Use your content to train machine learning or AI models
Target ads based on your behavior, posts, or personal information
Keep your data after you delete it — deletion is permanent and real

5. Advertising

Free accounts see occasional ads. These ads are:

Not targeted. Everyone sees the same ads.
Clearly labeled as "Sponsored."
Not based on your data. We don't profile you. Period.

Premium subscribers see no ads at all.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on our own servers — not on Big Tech cloud platforms
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (industry standard)
All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
Authentication uses secure, httpOnly cookies
We perform regular security audits

7. Data Deletion

You can delete individual posts at any time — the post and its image file are permanently removed from our servers
You can delete your entire account — all your data, posts, messages, and images are permanently removed
"Delete" means delete. Not "hide." Not "archive." Not "retain for 90 days." Deleted.

8. Cookies

We use exactly one cookie: your login session token. That's it. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

digiNOM is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Law Enforcement

We will only provide user data to law enforcement when required by a valid legal process (warrant, court order, or subpoena). We will notify affected users unless legally prohibited from doing so.

11. Changes

If we update this policy, we will notify users through the platform. We will never weaken your privacy protections without giving you the option to delete your account first.
